Sorter not recognized by Kyocera KM 3035

I am the second company to come out on an existing previous problem with a KM3035. The sorter is shown installed and can be sellected, but all copy and prints and faxes come out at the catch tray. The copy company that came out before me tried and left another sorter at the location, with the same result. checked connection and there is no fault code. tested sorter drives in diagnostics..with no results. any suggestions? (other than a bigger hammer!) , Arnie

Have you tried selecting the sorter tray as the output? What happens when you try to select the finisher tray output? Have you run a U906 partial reset? Or if printing, is the machine properly configured in the driver to show all the attached accessories. Is the finisher tray output selected when printing? Not much information here. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Is the paper set to normal paper? Maybe it's selected on a kind of paper that the finisher can't handle?

Yes, heavy paper will not output to the finisher, only to the top of the machine. In U000 print off "ERROR". You'll get a list errors, and the number of occurrences of each. Look for a C8xxx error to lock out the finisher. =^..^=

the paper is normal setting on 8.5x11 standard weight. tried 14" too. the inverter gate (directs it to the finisher)doesnt even try to engage.no error code in listing. the customer wont be in till next week. ill give u906 a try then.
