    [Misc] KM5050 (Utax CD1250) error on scan to email although email goes through

    Hello,

    Have a customer who had recently changed to 2008(64bit)R2 and scan to email is performed, however it was printing send error reports until we switched them off. It is still lighting the LED Error when scanning to email is performed.
    Any ideas? it has got the latest FW.
    .OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

    What is the email size limitation set to?

        Exactly! The only place the error will be displayed is on the screen immediately after the scan to email failure. It is not printed on the error report, any error log, or displayed anywhere else. =^..^=
        If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          theoretically it could be assigned to the size, as that is the one thing I haven't checked...


          There is no C code or other Error code on the display. As per clients "understanding"

          Transfer was initially on the reports so I assume the codes that meant to appear on screen are some of these:

          2201 Error: Network transfer Error occurs on the network. Check the network connection (cable. network
          condition within LAN, etc.).
          2202 Error: Network transfer with
          timeout
          Error occurs on the network. Check the network connection (cable. network
          condition within LAN, etc.).
          2203 Error: Response wait with
          timeout
          Response is not returned
          from the server above specified
          time.
          Check the network connection (cable. network
          condition within LAN, etc.).
          2204 Error: E-Mail Size limit The size of E-mail exceeds its
          limit.
          Change the [E-mail Size Limit] in
          [Advanced]-[SMTP] -[General]-[E-mail Setting]
          in COMMAND CENTER.


          I think it is a IT issue, just wondered why client can't see any of these codes when they surely appear on the screen when the error happens.

            Set the size to "0" in the admin panel and let the email server throttle the size. I just had the same issue with a 520i running on exchange 2010.

                Like my customers, and everybody elses customers, your customers are not very observant. Also since the numbers don't mean anything to them, they have no reason to remember them. If the the error happened to match their age or waist size, then they might remember it (2204?) =^..^=

                  Okay. Today I have set the size to 0 kb(unrestricted) and it was coming with 2202 (as per smarter lad in the office ),initially it was set to 30000kb and it was still coming with the same error that no one seem to see on the screen :?

                  condition within LAN, etc.).


                  So I assume as they are on Terminal Services and have remote mail server + going through a relay server it is not issue with the copier. What do you think?

                    Just to be clear, you did say they ARE receiving the emails and still getting the error, right?
                    The attachments are complete and readable?

                      Go into the command center or even on the machine and increase the SMTP Server Timeout
                      The default is usually set to 10 seconds.

                        Yes as I said above..Email goes through, full and readable but the error appears on screen and the orange LED error starts blinking too.

                        They also use authentication on their email server.

                          Thanks AGI will try this on Monday that sounds like a very useful tip. Very logical ...shame on me that I did not think about that...that is why we here ..hmm

                            I have the same issue with a 300ci. What was the final solution. I set the email size to 0 and the SMTP timeout to 20. I changed the scan to default to black and white. Now it shows a large file going through, but never see it in my email. If I send a one page document, I see it in my emails. If I send a 10 page document at 300x300dpi, black and white, SMTP timeout at 20sec, and the email size limit at 0, the copier send log shows completed, and I never see it in my emails. When my email size limit is 14400KB, SMTP timeout is 10sec., and default scan is color, one page goes through and a 10 page document will go through and I get a error 2202 error.
