Copystar CS-1500 C6400 code....how can I enter Maintenance mode?

Hi. I am actually working on a Copystar CS-1500 that came up with the C6400 code after a power outtage. According to the manual.... you can start the sim 163 code by entering maintenance mode (press stop reset start and left copy exposure key at the same time) but I am unable to enter maintenance mode.

Code just keeps on blinking and no way to bypass it. What am I doing wrong? I only have Kyocera Manuals.

Switch the machine on with the cover open first then enter the service mode.

Hmmmm trying cover open....all covers open....glass exposed...while switching on....still no joy.

Turn on the machine with front cover open as if adding toner and keep it open until you after you reset sim 163. Don't close it until you do the reset and turn the machine off.

Have tried that to no avail. Perhaps I have the button sequence wrong?

I don't think you've got a bad board. I've had trouble getting into Maintenance on these models that don't use 1087 when there is an error code. I believe the earlier post is right about leaving the cover open, but I'm not sure why its not working for you.

I know my comments are probably no help to you, but really I'm just posting because I love the steak knife/sea monkey comment! I've got all the manuals I need, but I'll take some sea monkeys!

Your error isnt C6040//// U163 -----Resetting the fixing problem data

Your problem with power supply board(70 %) or engine board(30%)

C6400. Zero Crosso signal problem. Reset using maintenance mode 163 with the front/top door open. Needed to follow the "entering Maintenance mode procedure" by the letter to clear the code.

But, You are asking for help, My last reply came from KDA Connect and you DO clear a C6400 code using sim 163 Fuser reset. Since I am right how about a free set of knives?

Hi Kyocop,

Do the following steps:

*switch off machine

*open front cover

*switch on machine

*Press: Reset/stop key -Print key -Left exposure key (together)

*Press Reset/stop key again.


Now you are in simulation mode.

The Zero-crossing error is never the board or the fuser. It's , and I've seen this probably 100 times, always from a power outage. When the power comes back on, the voltage is low and it causes the error.
