    [Misc] envelopes

Working on a km-3050, when the customer received the unit i showed them how to print labels and envelopes. Now the envelopes dont print properly. The address in the corner of the envelope only prints half and i get a black line on the envelope. If i put an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and print as if it were an envelope the address comes out fine. I have checked all the rollers, they are all fine. Swapped out parts with another km-3050. Still same outcome. Any ideas would be appreciated as to i am at my wits end with this unit(AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH).

    Re: envelopes

Paper setup in the software has to match printer driver and MP tray setting on the actual machine.

Is this file based on a envelope template?

Program the bypass to custom size envelope.
I hav had customers use the same envelope for years, then all ov a sudden it won't print.

Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

            Re: envelopes

Just came across this problem this morning, but I don't have any good answers.

They're using Microsoft Word as their envelope template, and like a lot of Microsoft Office programs it offers only certain driver choices when using templates, and overrides the printer defaults.

My only useful suggestion was to create their own template document, custom sized 4 1/8 x 9 1/4, and not use the built in envelope template. Then you get all the print options, including COM10 envelope size, envelope media type, and top tray (face down) exit.

Once you get these print options it works OK.
Oh, and my customers problem was that the envelopes exit to the DF-710 tray A, which jams every time. That's where Word wants the envelopes to go, and blocks choosing the output. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              Re: envelopes

Personally, I hate envelopes. The air get trapped inside and you get back CQ or creases. The corners of the envelopes are the key. If they overlap too much, the air is trapped inside causing image issues. Has the customer changed envelopes recently? The ones I have found run the best have corners that meet at the tip of each seem and have little overlap on the corners.
