    Auto Color Calibration - cs-400ci

Anyone have any clue why the auto calibration cycle on the cs-400ci would make the colors worse?

I ran thru the calibrations, adjusted the print driver settings to get the machine to print the correct colors to match, then as soon as the machine thinks it's time to calibrate itself, the colors get darker, green becomes a green/grey mix, then the next auto calibration it becomes more blue... all on the same run.... several calibrations later, the colors are still off, but was able to make more changes on the driver to get close to the original colors back when starting the job again... but once again, auto calibration kicks in and colors way off again.... reloaded firmware while onsite with no change to process noted.. called tech support, 30 minute wait produced no help... any suggestions? (besides swapping out to a new machine, this one has less than 200k prints on it)

Are you following this procedure for color calibration? I've pasted this from a similar thread:

The adjustment procedure after upgrading to version 11 :

    - U119
    - U147 must be set to 1
    - U327 (Cassette Heater) must be set to OFF
    - U325 (Operation Mode) must be set to 3
    - Make a choice for U486 (B/W - Color Ratio) : Mode 1 if color < 5%, Mode 2 if color and B/W is the same, Mode 3 if color is more than B/W
    - U464 High Altitude Mode must be set to 1
    - U464 AC Calibration : Set Calibration Type to 2, set all colors to ON and press Execute
    - Run Color Calibration in User Menu
    - Run Color Registration in User Menu
    - U412
    - U410

    Good Luck

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

color registration calibrates based on the density on the test patches, but its not a color matching feature and by no means it has intelligence.

I'd also test CMYK individually (no red/green/blue).

edit: I wouldnt judge the purity of color using a print job, I go by u89. After confirming CMYK is good then move on to the print side. Have you set to 4 channel print mode with KPDL emulation?

May I ask what file and format is the user trying to print?

All files are standard PDFs, lots of background... ran thru all of the steps already outlined here, no call back yet, but primary end user going on vacation so will have to wait to see once back and using again...

          I hate pdf's.

Same issue, what's suppose to be green is orange, then cross hatch pattern, then no color. Once we opened up the original, trying to save as different file format, chunk of the picture went missing.

          Corrupted file it was
