Copystar CS-6030 - how to enable network printing?

I started a new job in an office with a CS6030. For some reason that nobody is sure of, it was never set up for network printing. The closest thing we have to an IT guy said "I didn't know it could do that". Whenever I need something printed in 11x17, I have to print it to 8.5x11 on a regular printer, carry it over to the Kyocera, and enlarge it to proper size. This is silly.

I have the kyocera universal print driver installed. I did a "arp -a" and tried connecting to every live ip address on my network, but no luck. I know the device is on the network, because it will scan to PDF on a network shared drive.

I know the device is capable, but the "printer" button does nothing, and there is a password on the device settings menu. Nobody here knows what the password is. Is there any way to enable the network print function without the password? Is there a manufacturers default password I could try? I already tried the basic stuff like 1111 and 1234 - no dice. Any suggestions, or am I boned?

That unit has 2 connections. If you look on the right hand side to the back you will see them. The top one is for scanning and the bottom one is for printing. The password should be 6482 to get into the settings. You are also better off using the KX driver which you can download from the website. I never liked the universal driver.

Thanks. The password worked. Unfortunately, there are no settings I can find to enable network printing. Furthermore, there appears to be only one ethernet connection. Is it possible this machine really was set up for copy/scan only?

If you dont see a second one then it was probably purchased without the print controller. Copy\scan is what you have. That sucks because these units take a beating and keep on going. I have a couple of accounts that print all day to those units. They are also fast.

          Agree 100%
Do you think it could have been sold without the print system V?

Do you have the second cable attached?
I don't have a Harrier in front of me to look at, but here's from memory (you may have to enter that password at some point):
Printer > Print Menu > (password?) > Interface > TCP/IP > "DHCP" change > OFF > OK > "IP address" change > enter address > OK > "Subnet Mask" change > enter subnet > OK > "Gateway" change > enter gateway > OK > End (or Close) to get all the way back out 5 or 6 levels > Re-boot machine to have changes take affect.

Apologies in advance for my poor memory. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Can the print controller be added? What would one cost and where might I buy one?

You can get a used machine for parts with the print system for $700
some people sell the printer board itself for $500

You are definitely missing Print System V

As Blackcat described that is all you need to do to get the machine on network to work.

                Great memory Blackcat.. ooolol
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?
