What is the main difference in Print System R and Q

I have few old babes Olivetti D63 (Kyocera 6330) and I have a box full of print boards (about 10) with identical part number however with different marking one is KP-874D which works and the other is KP-874C
Both have the same part number 2BL2802.
When I put the KP-874D in to D63 it works fine when I put KP-874C it alomst works..it comes to OFFLINE when status page or printing starts...any suggestions or experience? How can I confirm whether it is Printing System R or Q so I can load correct Firmware?

Blackcat would you know the difference?

    Many thanks.

Sorry, it's before my time with Copystar/Kyocera Mita. I was working on Canon at the time.

I would suspect that even with the correct firmware, it wouldn't function.
I had a PF-760 (not B) that I really really wanted to use on a CS-520i. I know it's not compatible (the PF-760(B)) but I thought maybe loading the correct firmware might make it work. All I successfully did was create a bunch of cfxxx errors. It wouldn't speak to the MFP regardless. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Thanks Blackcat,

I will sacrifice one print board tomorrow and try and load first the older FW on the older version of Printing system.if that is the case. If successful than I will try and load the other one. Hope the D63 survives this hack, as FW will be done solely on Printing system and not on actual machine.

Will keep you guys posted. Wish me luck.

Like you say, I don't think there's any risk to the MFP, ... but the print card may be toast. What do you have to lose, but one of the print cards. I know there has been some exchanging of CS-8030 print sys V with the one on the CS-820, but it was a failure IIRC.

Let us know ... probably cfxxx codes for wrong firmware, that's my guess. =^..^=

          Talking about Print System V,

would you have some in stock? or any spare to sell.
