When installing a network print board kit on a Kyocera do you need extra memory? I thought I might have posted this a couple days ago but cant find it. So if you see a double please excuse me for my old age.

Re: is extra memory needed when using a print board?
Required? No.
Will it speed up you spooling time? Yes definitely. For the cost, I encourage the salespeople to upgrade all of them. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: is extra memory needed when using a print board?
@ Blackcat @I did a test, NOT on Kyocera but on KonicaMinolta C350 and upgraded memory to full spec and there was no speed/time difference in spooling or printing of the actual jobs, maybe because of such a old machine but still, I have sent a huge pdf and couple of small docs and when I repeated the same pdf and docs without the upgradeable memory it was with a maybe 1 seconds deterrence... and for large proportion jobs or heavy traffic I would rather choose RIP or Fiery.

Re: is extra memory needed when using a print board?
depends on how the printer driver is setup.
Have not experimented this but default setting is set to spooled first(under Microsoft OS) on most driver setups, so OS is in control and perhaps system memory is used for holding documents instead of the onboard printer memory.
If its set to "print directly to the printer." I wonder what happens.Idling colour developers are not healthy developers.Comment
