    KM2560 Idling and j 04 code

We have a KM2560 that when making multiple duplex sets, after 6 double sided copies are output, the machine stops printing out papers and keeps running and running . If you open the left door , there is a piece of paper setting on the vertical path on the duplex unit. At that time it shows a J-04 , cover open. when you remove the paper and close the door, it finishes the last duplex copies.

We have tried engine pcb, main pcb, updating firmware, new Memory, exit unit, and clutches. The regional Rep advised us to let it run until it coded. We let it run 1.5 hours and it never coded. No low toner indications either.

Has anyone had this issue? Please help!

Does the same thing happen if you print 10 duplex test prints from maintenance mode?

Have you re-formatted the hard drive? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for the replies! I had posted on another site and this is what we found...
"Try a Simulation 20 on this... We had one doing something very similar a few months back.. It ran us crazy... Sim 20 and it never missed another beat and it's still running strong..."
We did run the Sim 20 and it seems to have solved the problem. the machine has ran 15-20 sets with no hesitation.
        Thanks again for the suggestions!

Thanks for the update! It would be interesting to know what specifically was causing the problem. It's unfortunate that you had to clear everything when the cause was most likely just one of the numerous settings you reset.

I agree! It would be nice to know what was causing the issue but at this point, we are just happy it is working. Alot of frustration and the client has been very nice and patient but still very aggrivated!
Hopefully it won't happen again but if it does, we know to research settings since it was not an actual "bad or broken" part.

... and all the settings your tech restored from the maintenance report after defaulting the whole machine. =^..^=
