    KM3035 black copies

Saw a post for a CS3035 that might be the same. Have black copies (totally black). Unit was working last week then they moved it to a new location. They made a set of copies and the copies got lighter and lighter at first. Then they made another copy and that is when they turned totally black. Copies and maintenance print outs are black with no image seen at all. Going to take a drum unit with me next trip and a new charge unit. Should I be considering anything else? Unit has 201K copies on it.

Thank you for your time and effort in this matter.

You're right on the mark Bil. You might also look at the rear frame charge contact, or the drum ground, but the 90% likelihood goes to the primary. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I think the charge unit might be where your issue is, it might be arcing in the rear.

Charge unit was the fix. Fortunately the drum was not affected!

Thank you very much for the help. Have a great weekend.

                Re: KM3035 black copies

i know that those charge/grid assemblys can cause dark background prints.. but on this model or the 420i or 300i... is there a way tweak the grid or charge voltage to get by till i can get a replacement charge assembly?
U100 seems to be for using a meter to check the value ...
various settings in U101 did not seem to make much difference on the shadowy 420i i worked on today
                always a battle... !
                thanks...
