    CS-5050 with C-8220

    Posted October 13, 2011 03:09 PM October 13, 2011 03:09 PM
I have a strange one here. For a while now, the customer has called intermittantly with a C-8220, finisher communication error. They use a program called Batch and Scan Pro, and, although it may be a coincidence, neither the customer nor myself has ever seen it do it unless it is printing from this program. The program watches a scan folder then prints anything that is sent to the folder then sends it on to another folder. When I scan to it, it might work a hundred times, then start to jam and throw the code and won't stop until the job is cleared. It especially does it if it's out of paper and then you add paper and it goes to print. When it does it, it makes a loud noise like a motor locking up. I replaced the jogger motors, but no help. Sorry so wordy, but it's hard to explain. Firmware was flashed. Any suggestions? Thank You.

Can you do a data capture? What emulation?

I'd be interested in looking at a capture of the job. I suspect that the program is outputting something that looks enough like PreScribe to confound the print controller.

Have you tried changing emulation? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for the reply. I have not tried the emulation. I think you are probably spot on with the idea that it is sending something confusing as it never does this while copying, at least, as far as I can tell. Will try and let you know.
