    km 5050 noisy and jamming

Hi all does anybody know of any known problems regarding jamming and noise on this model. The noise seems to be coming from the reg unit as i can hear it slip causing noise .I have also noticed the gear which drives the reg unit seize n stop too which results in the slipped gear noise and jam at the same time. I didnt get time to strip down the drive section yet but will be returning to the machine and thought i would ask if anybody has seen this problem.
    Thanks

What jam codes? There are too many possibilities to start speculating on this information. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Probably the double gear on top of vertical feed unit is worn out

I haven't seen it on these series of machines but I did see it on Falcon 2's (3035, 4035, 5035). What we found was one of the gears was wearing on it's shaft on the back side of the inner door on the conveying area. If you look below the reg roller on the back side you'll see what I'm talking about.

We usually try cleaning the shafts and putting a little lube on them to keep them from squeaking. If that doesn't work replace those three gears. They're really easy to replace.

I've replaced 4 or 5 middle feed units on these models in the last 2 months....end users will slam the side shut and crack the plastic on the left side of that feed unit and eventually it just breaks off....

Hi all thanks for the responses. Just to let you know I got a chance to spend some time on the problem and after stripping the vertical feed unit from the machine I found three teeth on the gear which drives from the lower feed motor worn slightly. The gear is listed as -2fg06040 gear z21-z36 feed. Thanks for your imput
