Getting to 163 on those models isn't simple. You have to go under the system menu and highlight (don't actually go into it) "Service Setting". Next hold down the Start & # buttons at the same time then press Enter while still holding down those buttons. Scroll down to Maintenance Mode and you should be able to get in.

Yeah, this is not easy to get to. First, turn off the machine and open the top lid. Without closing the lid, turn the machine back on and wait for the machine to tell you to close the lid. When it does, push the up or down arrow key to Select Service. Press the Start button, the Pound button, and the Enter button at the same time, the screen should change. Arrow up or down to Select Maintenance and press the Enter button. You should be in the maint. mode. Type in 163 (Fuser/Fixing reset) and press enter. Arrow down to execute and press enter. Turn the machine off (as this is the only way to exit the maint. mode on these machines) and close the lid. Turn the machine back on and the fuser should be reset.
