I have 2 PF-760's one on a TA 500ci and one on a TA 400ci. I have recently changed out the right hand PF lift motor due to a warped shaft that would disable these drawers due to the spring and gear not popping forward and lifting. Now it seems I am having an issue where when the PF runs out of paper and they refill it and close the tray it will disable itself. Any ideas?

Re: PF 760 Error
I've had this same problem on two different 500ci's. The PF unit usually gets disabled because it's not seeing the paper being lifted. In fact I usually hear the drawers dropping several times before it disables itself. I still don't think I have it 100% beat but here's a few things to try.
1) There are two levers that interact with sensors on the inside of the back of the PF unit. They tell the machine when the drawers are lifting. Make sure those sensors are clean.
2) You might need to adjust the front cover on the drawer. I did that to make sure the drawer is getting a good fit with the motors.
3) Make sure the 4 optical sensors in the PF feed assy are clean.
If you find out anything else or if anyone else has any ideas let me know. These steps seem to be working but I can't tell you if it's a good fix or just a band aid. -
Re: PF 760 Error
I have made sure the drawers are aligned correctly on both machines....I'll check those sensors and see if that improves things. Thanx."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: PF 760 Error
I finally got up there to look at the machine and play around with it. Got the tech guy to show me exactly when the problem was happening. Turns out all it was is the C-Pick Roller that sits in the bottom of the left paper tray. They let that left tray run out of paper and when it slides one sheet over from the right side the two rollers are connecting well enough with the 1 sheet of paper to move it along the path causing the machine to see a failure. I like the nice simple fixes once the end user shows exactly what the issue is. LOL"In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."
