    Kyocera Mita KM-4030 light copy

Hi, I have a problem with KM-4030. The print out copy is light. I have replaced transfer assembly and primary still no luck. Then i try to replace developing unit then the copy darkens. What I've notice is that the distribution of the developer/toner on the magnetic roller is light compare to the good developing unit that i use for testing. Can the gap be adjusted? Because in some copier, you cannot just touch the magnet blade because there is a certain measurement. The bearings and pulley are okay. Anything should i check on the developing unit? Thank you very much

There is no adjustment of the doctor blade. Only one position. You could have an electrical short causing loss of developer bias. The magnets in the developing roller can become weak.

There are no replaceable parts in the developing unit. Just replace the developing unit and be done with it.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

you mean, something in my developing unit is causing an electrical short which causes the magnet to become weak?

As a last ditch effort, you can vacuum out the developer unit completely and make sure the mag roller doesn't have any stuck on "toner lines". Then put it back in and run 130. I've had lots of success with that. Aside from that, just like blackcat said (the most frequent phrase around here ), replace the whole unit. They're not that expensive compared to a color unit.

After changing the developing unit you should run U130 because it has different toner sensor value(if you took from any working machine or new)

if not satisfied with quality please increase the value of DEV BIAS in U101.(Increasing the value image becomes lighter and decreasing the value

          image darker............Good luck

          Thanks and Regards
