    kyocera Taskalfa 221

    Question on the fax option does the flap that is clipped on the keypad assembly have any magnet or anything that signals it to respond? The reason for my question is I have one that I can't get to register the name and number on. Also if you push the print report key it will say abbrev in display, The reason is this machine that i have is missing the flap? Just seems wierd that this flap has anything to do with it. ? any help would be appreciated Thanks Frank

      There is no magnet or anything I can discover. I don't know how it responds to that thing. The part number is 303MZ05010.

          if its like the old facs the the piece that is missing (the flap)has a pip on it that hits a tiny switch in the middle at the top that is just above the on hook button. when the flap is turned to the left it hits the button and allows registration.

              That's exactly it. There's a minute feature on the door hinge that operates a minute momentary switch on the panel PWB. And yes, those door are a regular replacement item. They often just disappear ... eerie. =^..^=

              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
