    [CQ] Background only when cold. TaskAlfa 500ci

    Having a problem with a TaskAlfa 500ci that prints with a black, faded background after sitting idle for an extended period of time. Firmware is up to date and I have been through the troubleshooting steps in the "Troubleshooting Bulletin" for background printing (with the exception of replacing the developer - waiting on its arrival).

    I am thinking there is a key to the solution based on the fact that after a few prints it clears up, but I don't know what that solution is. Any ideas?

      If the firmware is up to date (V12) then the only thing left to do is replacing the black Development Unit and do all adjustments. After that the machine will run ok. My experience is that with firmware version V12 and the new black DV-Unit, these machines are running fine.

              Developer did not fix the problem.

              I was following bulletin #10 (Troubleshooting) with regard to the background.

              Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

                  Maybe it's an environmental issue. Did you for check airconditioners, heaters, etc?

                      Will it happen on single color cmy? Or full color from cold? My first thought is black charge roller.

                          Whats an extended period of time?,and what enviorment is the machine in?

                                  Most background problems I've had on these machines have either been the MC or the Drum. Not all but most.

                                      Cleaned all the filters (they were pretty dirty). It "seems" to have fixed the problem.

                                      FYI - the machine is in a climate-controlled environment and is not located near any vents.
