    [Misc] twain scanning

Just installed a new cs 255 in a lawyers office. Got everything up and running, they use a software called ecopy desktop. I installed the twain drivers and got the software to recognize the scanner. When i scan using the software the scans come with a black line and the right hand side. When you print the same scan the documents come out fine. Not too many settings for twain in this software. Any ideas or anyone that has worked with this software would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Do the scans come out fine if you use the Windows Scanning Utility? if it is, it is the Proprietary software, if the scans also come out deffective there then it might be a different reason.

Have you tried scanning to a folder and then have the software import the images from there? any difference? I myself HATE Twain Scanning

      Re: twain scanning

I've got an ongoing issue between a Konica Minolta C220, TWAIN scanning to a proprietary application. All TWAIN scans to this application result in negative images. After a bunch of experimentation we got KM to work with the sellers of the software. Still no resolution, but we did get an admission that there is some sort of software conflict between KM's TWAIN driver and the proprietary software. Maybe you'll have more luck than me. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Re: twain scanning

Yes i have set up scan to folder and also used the kyocera scanner file utility as an ftp utility and scans go through fine. The other day i was called in when they twain scan in portrait, the scan comes through landscape. Do it a second time and the scan comes up fine. I have a feeling like blackcat says its a glitch in the software they use. Going back on Monday morning, will post what happens.

Went back to account today and reflashed the unit with firmware, also uninstalled and re-installed twain driver. Tested both pc's with the twain scanning and images were good. Also called kyocera tech support and was told to do exactly the same thing, did it and tested it. So far so good. Will keep updating this post, i was also told by tech support that kyocera will no longer support paper port. Just fyi for you guys out there that are having issues with paper port.
