Km-3050 no N/W lights or connection

Hi, I have one of these that has a problem if the m/c is restarted.
when it boots up there is no light on the N/W port of the m/c, if I unplug it while it is on it lights up.
but I have to restart it to get the connection to work, this was ok in system restart but then this started failing, also does it on a laptop
    work so far
replaced main pwb and updated F/W
    swapped mem module
    swapped DIMM
swapped fax back up cf card
    completely disconnected fax from m/c.
this still give the same result, I am going back with other boards and HDD.
we have loaned a small fs-1350 there in the same port and that is printing fine.
any ideas or previous experience to solve this would be great, and if I fix it I will post my solution.

    cheers

I would have started with the main PWB, CODE DIMM, and HDD in that order. Of course firmware would have to be reloaded with each of these operations.

Be sure to note the network settings, addressbook, and shortcuts. You might try a HDD reformat. I solved a connection problem with an NS30 by reformatting the HDD. Resetting the NIC did not help. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Blackcat, here's what I have done since the 1st cry for help!
      update on this problem
I took parts out of our known working m/c
i left the new main board in and put in our engine board, still the same.
I replaced the main board back to the original and our engine board, still the same
I tried our main board and engine board, still the same. although I got one print out on this setup it failed when I turned the m/c off/on which has happened from the start.
I tried our main/engine and HDD, still the same.
the above + our PSU, still the same.
these were with the customers eeprom's in but our memory and dimm. I had to use their fax back up CF card as ours gave c0700 but saying that I had completely removed the fax system before with the same result.
I unplugged the doc feeder and the main plugs from the scanner to main board still no light's, I unplugged tray heater and anything I could that did not stop the m/c from running and it is still the same.
also changed cables, wall socket from another room and IP address.
I have put another printer FS-3140 in place of the FS-1350 and using the same driver so they can scan/fax and both of these printers work ok.
the m/c was moved by the company we hire to move all our m/c's and worked for a week or so before this happened but I can't see any damage.
This is a Bazar fault and I suspect it will turn out to be something daft like a rubbing wire or the like, I will update if I find the fault.

        Here's a wild card:

        How about AC power?
I had two FalconIII's in the same building dropping off the network for a couple hours at a time. After a couple visits, and never being able to see the problem, I finally set up a power quality analyzer. There were getting huge spikes and sags at 5:00am and 3:30pm. There were ~25 events in 48 hours.

When the power was cleaned up it never happened again. =^..^=

Re: Km-3050 no N/W lights or connection

          Hi, here is the update.
We took a small powered switch to the customers and plugged that in between the m/c and the wall, this seemed to work ok we got n/w light's on the printer.
Then we turned the network speed to 100mbs instead of auto in command centre.
We removed the switch and plugged the m/c in to the wall socket as normal and after multiple off/on's the m/c picked up the network every time.
We are not 100% sure what was the fault but it seems there was some sort of timing issue for establishing a live connection for the port, if that makes any sense. I was told about one that the port would shut down on the switch before the printer could make connection. although we did have 2 new printers work ok????
This set up was in a new build house that was wired for n/w from new, and only 2 pc's running through a switch but had remote server.
I am just glad it's working. have a great weekend.

You may not be entirely done with this.

Home offices are frequently not wired properly to handle the load of all the office equipment. If it presents again, get that power quality analyzer. It's the only way you'll be free of the problem. =^..^=
