    FS-C8025 Screeching noise.

I have been to this machine twice for a screeching issue but every time I arrive I am unable to fault the machine. I have ran all fans and motors in check mode and also ran very long copy runs. Customer says they have 2 or 3 of these in another town (not my area) which all had the same issue and a part was replaced to prevent it from reoccurring. Can't seem to find anything of relevance in the KM tech notes. All I can think of is either a drum or the fuser. Has anyone had this issue before and what did you replace?

    Cheers
    J.

hmmm ... I've never heard of that. I'll be interested in the answer. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I would guess fuser only because I've ran into issues on a few machines (varying models) where the fuser (usually the bearings/bushings) would make noise first thing in the morning and then when the machine warmed up sufficiently the noise would go away. In those cases I would usually tell the customer I would start at their office first call in the morning and tell them to leave their machine turned off so I could turn it on myself and possibly be able to hear the noise for myself while the machine is still cold. Just a thought...
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

I had thought this myself but I visited the customers site twice in the same day, first time around 13:00 and the customer did say it was earlier in the day when the noise had started, so I left them my number to call as soon as the noise reoccurred, which it did around 16:00, I arrived at 16:10 and the noise had stopped. I think it must still be fuser though, unless the drums are on a shaft (haven't pulled them apart yet) which needs some lube or the cleaning blade (just maybe).
