    CS-300i with DF-670(B): original skew

I thought this was going to be one of those 3 minute service calls. Snug up the cassette guides, show the keyop, then move on. But nooo ...

Print skew was unmeasureable (less than 1/8 mm), OC (off the glass) skew was 3/5 mm, and DP skew: 3.25mm
Wow that last one is impressive! I'm measuring image skew on 8 1/2 x 11 letter originals on same paper, measuring the subscan distance between the leading edge and the centerline on my test original, the difference between measurement at the front compared to the rear.

I thought there must be something really obviously wrong with with this DP. The only really obvious thing though is that there aren't any mechanical skew adjustments, or for that matter any other mechanical adjustments excepting left hinge height. The whole DP is just one big molded chunk of plastic. The hinges are intact, not bent or warped in any way. I guess the thing is just supposed to work just like it is, without adjustments.

I did get a small improvement by bottoming out the hinge height. Now only 2.25mm. If I go the other way I can make that skew over 5mm very easily.

Has anyone tried to address this? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I had a problem with this feeder producing a grey patch on the trailing edge. Theres a metal plate where some feeders would have a platen roller. Take this off and place it on a table is it absolutely level?

Flat, level. I thought of slipping a couple flat washers in between the mount to shift the contact point of those pressure rollers 1mm or so, up or down. No affect whatsoever. =^..^=

        Dear Friend.

To solve this issue you have to drink one cup of coffee.relax your mind for a while and start the work in this sequence..

1: Adjust the Sim (U072) Adjusting the DP Center line.you can decrease the value and increase the value .you can observe where you can get good image near to your original.make a test copy and check.
it will not solve your problem but you can come to near end.
2: Adjust the SIM(U071). Adjusting the DP scanning timing.this simulation is controlling the speed of DP scanner motor.
same you can increase and decrease the value and make test copy.

3: In the last you can try the Sim(U068).

Hopefully these steps will help you to solve the issue

        Thanks and Regards

Which DP is on it...pretty sure there is a skew adjustment at upper side of right hinge if it is one I am thinking of. If doc feed gets pulled while moving copier, you can get gray banding down middle of copy and at lead and trail edge.

It was the only thing that actually helped, a little. =^..^=
