I will share my Knowledge Regarding this problem.
This was a communication error between Engine and Main PCB,but we replaced as i mentioned my previous posts that we tried every thing.we made around 6 visits to this machine (3 different service engineers).
At last we pull out this machine and given standby machine to the customer.
We sent email to kyocera and they reply??????????????????????? .they faced this problem in field and after changing fuser unit problem was solved.
you will be shocked that this was a fuser problem.after changing fuser unit machine working perfectly alright.
do you imagine that this was a fuser problem???????
please keep updating
Thanks and Regards

Re: TaskAlfa 500ci. error F040
save setting machine on usb key, then perform u21, re-install setting machine ok
I'm so sorry!
One of my famous (!!!!) team member played with this 420i a few weeks ago...
He took the RAM for a 300i (the same 2GB) but his problem was due to the Main Controller Dimm (on the 300i).
The thing is that he put the defective Dimm of the 300i on MY 420i....
hi...again.
I'm sorry, I was not clear enough in my explainations:
the CF040 appears on a 420i.
I've another 420i in the office where I can take different parts.
For the FW update, i tried both CF and USB in an other material and they work perfectly.
In this 420i, the Firmware update begins and is abnormaly short.
The result is Panel update error, or Browser error, or High Voltage CPU error...etc ans it's not always the same error.
I had a call of our Kyocera Support Specialist and he told me to take parts on the other 420i, except the main Dimm (where is stored the serial number).
I just take my screwdriver and I'll tell you back the results....$
Hi guys,
Can somebody explain me how to separate files for FW update?
We're experiencing a CF040 on a Task420i and brains are burning
We tried to reset panel, update firmware (USB or CF -> same result).
Every time we try, there's a different error (Panel/CPU/Browser....etc) and the mainframe still does'nt work...
Thanks for your help to come (and sorry for my french-glish....!)
You may need to separate the High voltage CPU firmware for the model you sre having trouble updating from the standard firmware and update it first. I believe that BkackCat had some information regarding this problem. According to him KDA no longer offers this file. I was able to separate these files from the standard firmware file and it does work if you have the correct chosen the correct files
