you dont have to use netviewer if you were only backing the addressbook from the same machine

There is a export/import to usb function in one of the u900 mode

          Re: km netviewer password problems

thanks for the info, i had totally forgotten about that.
However i had also told the client how usefull netviewer was especially as they have muliple machines to manage and how it would be helpfull in managing the muliple address books....only to look like a buffon when we could not get in to the address book on any of the machines!!!!!! (not the first time i have looked like a bufoon i assure you) so if anyone has any ideas i would greatly appreciate any input as to how i could get past this hopefully temporary impasse?

          thanks in advance.

Eirher netviewer or net accounting, during install will prompt you for new admin password. This is not related to the machine or cc.

If you cant retrieve this password, reinstall. If there's a lock symbol by the machine icon. Check local authentication onthe machine, if its out of the norm, bill them. They should inform you any changes they do to the machine.

Have you tried leaving it blank?

Yoy could try installing it at home or office and see if theres anything you miht have missed.

I've come across this before. The initially set password is stored somewhere on the server. Even when viewer is completely deleted via Add/Remove programs, the passwords survives. I never did get this one resolved.

The best answer is: Don't set a f'ing password in the first place. There is no way for me to determine what password you set. Especially if you don't tell me what it is. This applies on all levels: admin passwords, software passwords, etc. In a lot of cases you cannot ever delete the software without the password. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

What machine model is it? If they have changed the command centre login password, then you are screwed. Can you login to the command centre with admin00?

yes the password for the command center is admin00 as normal (TA 552ci) but when netveiwer asks for the command center password it just wont take it. i have reinstalled and created a password which did not work and reinstalled and left password blank which did not work. i think i am basically screwed.

i know the newer models have unified the passwords to "Admin" and tried that to no avail.
also tried other option when you can select "local authentication" still no good.

So far, the only bypass for a forgotten Net Viewer password is a format/reinstall of the host PC. I've tried uninstalling Net Viewer, cleaning unused registry keys and such with Ccleaner and reinstalling Net Viewer, but the password always persists. Total bummer...

i think at this point i just have to fess up to the customer and tell them it's not that great after all :-(

Actually, come to think of it, did you "authenticate" with the device first?

Right click device, select last option(Set multiple devices), then select authentication and use Admin, Admin. Was this done prior to using editor for address book?

I cant think of anything else other than that. It should work once authenticated.

I'm not too sure how passwords are stored but I know some programs store user data in hidden folders and this often isn't deleted when you un install.

I just heard about an apparent workaround for a forgotten password in KMNet Viewer. Supposedly, if you right-click the KMNet Viewer launch icon and select "Run as Administrator" it bypasses the password prompt. Once you get in you can apparently change the user password or maybe even get rid of it completely. I haven't had a chance to test this, but maybe one of you guys can give this a try and post back?
