    FS2020D with F565 error

I had a customer call in with a printer that was giving a "F565" error and then would power off. The user powered the machine back on and the printer would throw the same error and power itself off. The printer finally displayed a "Install MK" message, but then the error came back and powered the printer off. The error message does not show up in the manuals.

I called Kyocera Helpdesk and they mentioned that I do the following things:
    • Update Firmware
    • Check connections on Main PWB
    • Make sure Print Driver is the latest version of KX (5.3)
    • Make sure Printer Emulation is set to KPDL

I wanted run this question by you guys to see if anyone has had this problem before, and if so, to find out the resolution.

    Thanks in advance!

      Update on the F565 error:

      • Updated firmware
      • Made sure the Printer Emulation was set to "KPDL (Auto)"
      • Made sure the Print Driver was set to KPDL
      • Made sure the Print Driver was the latest version

After doing all of the above, the F565 error cleared, but after sending any document, including internal jobs (i.e., Menu Map), the printer would display "Memory Overflow; Press Go". I cut RAM Disk Off and power-cycled and the memory error continued to display no matter what I sent to it. After sending an Engine Reset command and power-cycling, the printer would display "No Multi Copies" (after sending a Menu Map) and then it displayed the F565 error again.

Next step is replacing the Main PWB. Hopefully someone will have some information to share regarding these errors and a possible solution. Thanks!

I think I'd start with the RAM DIMM first. Oops. It's 128MB built-in and can be upgraded by and additional 1024MB. If you are indeed having a RAM memory problem it looks as though you'll have to replace the controller.

I have no reference to the CF565 error. Sorry. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Don't be sorry Blackcat, Kyocera said they haven't had many issues with this code either. They said this code is usually found on larger machines, especially color units. One of the first places I looked after the call came in was your database of codes. Your database has helped us countless times!
