The KX setup routine can autodetect to match and install the driver correctly. If you did not autodetect but rather selected from a list incorrectly, then this could cause your problem I am told.
Another codes in case you need it. This can be defaulted to 0 if U021 has been selected or new board is installed.
    11 - Utax
    12 - Olivetti

    if that helps

I wonder have you selected the finisher manually?

Also may not hurt to check on Priner Menu (on Copier) the Emulation for Network try Auto(KPDL) with Alternative PCL6
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

Thanks for the suggestions. It may be a couple of weeks to test this out. I've been out of the office and when I get back I have to deal with running permanent network cables to the KM-5035. Previously I've been running a temporary, long ethernet cable on the floor to verify the printer/scanner ports worked and learn (which I'm attempting to do) how to configure the copier and computers.

I'll post again when I can get back to testing again...

I had some test time today using a temporary network cable and, in short, it's working now...

First, I tried the Deleter program. I had previously deleted the printer from the Windows' "Printer and Faxes", so I don't know if that had any affect to the program. When I ran Deleter it listed all the installed printers on my system, including the ones I don't want to delete (e.g. HP printers). It also listed all the printers DLLs & registries, but I didn't know which ones to delete, so I just cancelled the program. Not very user friendly...

Next I was told that I should download the driver from the Copystar website (doh! I was told it was a rebranded Kyocera KM-5035 so I didn't even think to look anywhere else). The downloaded driver file looks the same (size-wise, and version-wise).

I ran the Copystar installer and it looked the same as the Kyocera version. I could not find a "Printing System" for CS-5035, so I just installed the Kyocera Mita KM-5035 again.

I configured the "Device Settings" as you suggested, printed a couple of pages and it stapled!

        Woo-hoo!

The PDL settings didn't seem to matter. Previously I had it set to PCL XL. This time I tried both PCL XL and KPDL the stapler worked in both cases.

So I'm not sure why it's working... was it the Copystar installer, the reinstall, or maybe I didn't set the "Device Settings" correctly (but why would it allow me to check the Stapler option and not work?).

Oh well... I have 7 more systems to install after I get the new network cables in place. Perhaps I'll figure it out down the line...

Thanks to everyone for their input!

          Glad you worked it out.
