    CS-4550ci - Scan issues

scanning to PDF working fine, scanning to JPEG is distorted when it gets to the PC. Tried Scan and Print option, print size correct, but the JPEG is stretched out.

Just curious, whats happens if you scan to mailbox and print from there? Do the jpgs look distorted on the computer screen or just after being printed?

printing prints off the image as it was scanned, distorted. Image shows distorted on thumbnail, in the image viewer and on prints. Using scan and print option when scanning will print correct image, anything once scanned is distorted.

Well it's got to be an image processing problem for sure. I'd start be re-loading or upgrading the firmware. Next you have the image processing section starting at the CCD & SHD-PWB.

Just out of curiosity, is the scan to email, SMB or FTP? And have you tried other options? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The problem seems to not affect any copying... only tested with SMB, email and FTP not configured. Have firmware ready to install, was going to go back today to reload, however, wanted to test on another machine in our office only to find that our machine has the JPEG option greyed out and not accessable. I did reload firmware on ours with no change, not sure why it is not available

RESOLVED!! User had changed default DPI settings to 200x100, changed to 200x200 (customer wanted to have as low as possible) and tested ok.

              Congratulations.

I think you'll find that the JPEG being grayed out is because JPEG is available for color scanning only. Select color scan and JPEG will become available. You may also be limited to 300x300 resolution. Additional memory is required for higher resolutions (depending on the model, of course).

You should have tried with resulation 300x300 or 200x200.
