    Km 3050 touch panel issue...

    The copier works great... every once in a while... the touch panel loses alignment and then gets it back all on its own... techs have tried u201 and aligned it... customer complained it lost alignment again... when I got there it was perfect... I figure to install firmware and if that doesn't work then replace the operation panel power board... does anyone have any other ideas... or has anyone faced a similar issue...

      I had a KM6030 touch screen misalign. I could realign it but it would go out again, but never righted itself. Had to replace the op panel. You might want to look at the connectors on the op panel first to make sure they are tight. If one is loose, it might be causing your out of alignment-in alignment issue.

          For me, it's always been the tablet. Especially this time of year: hot and humid. when you remove the tablet you'll see the conductive adhesive where the ribbon cable attaches. If that adhesive is turned white or biege it's un-stuck. If it's dark brown or black the adhesive is probably OK.

          I haven't had much luck with re-sticking them either. The longest it's ever lasted is three days. =^..^=
          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              bought a new tablet operations... but I will check that and the connectors.... with my luck... both your suggestions will be right on the money...

                  I would bet on the op tablet. Not that difficult to replace
