I have 30 years in this business and this my second request for help this week. I'm starting to feel rookie-ish. KM4035 is getting JAM 21 only from the paper deck. Trays 1 & 2 are fine. In u31 mode, feed switches 1 2 & 3 all function correctly manually. Now, check this out...sometimes on a single copy, the copy will actually exit into the tray as though it's finished. THEN the J21 shows. There is no paper to remove. Opening and closing lcf or side door resets jam..On multiple copy runs, the j21 occurs after 1 or 2 pages and again, there is no paper. It never left the lcf..Had to leave for a down machine and just set the default tray to tray 1.. Going back tomorrow but not sure where to start?????? JAM21 JAM21 JAM21

The last time I saw this it was caused by the rear paper guide being out of position. It was PF-71 3000 sheet deck, and the customer had bent the alignment tabs that secure the 11" tray depth. The rear guide was at the A4 size at the right, and the B5 size at the left. Sometimes the paper made it through the funnel, most times not. I hope that I described that well enough ...

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

After further review,,, Although FS1 seemed to be ok from u31 mode, it seemed to respond just slightly slower than the others. New FS1 switch resolved the problem. I hate trying to count milliseconds...Comment
