    KM-2530 won't print from compter

First let me say i am the 3rd person in on the issue so i don't think i have 100% of the story.

i have a KM-2530 on a network that won't print from the computer, it all of a sudden stopped printing, when you try to print to it, the printer button lights up amber color but no print job. If you hit the printer button, you get an error "Please disconnect the socket from the plug" or something like that. The tech who was on site needed to replace a part (don't know what part) replaced the part and still same issues. Tech said to update driver to full driver not mini driver -- which was being used before any issues. I go to office and install the full driver on my laptop, and set printing via IP address, like most other people in office. It won't print, i get the same issue as just described. Tech says driver issue, no way it can be a driver issue seems like some disconnect. If i connect via web browser, i don't get a full web page all i get in the blue border with the default wording of "Setup" "Config" but in the center of the page where you would change any setting is just white you see no settings to change or anything. Can anyone help me?

It seems you may have lost the print controller. You could swap one out to test(if you have another) or you could try and reinstall the firmware. If you need to buy a replacement controller check with Glenn at Greater Philadelphia- good outfit, good pricing. i would also make sure there is no ip address conflict.

When you tested, you connected with network cable direct? To eliminate their network.

I would try the parallel port. I had one do strange things, but after I connect to the parallel port and printed, the network side started to work.

Other wise master reset, flash, boards.... good luck.

You should first try to update the Print Controller(System N) firmware as well as the Network firmware (NS-30). There is also a jumper near the Network port that when jumpered will do a reset on thr network portion of the print system.

So i got off the phone with the tech that was on site, they replaced all boards and even network card and updated any firmware. Tech said he was able to print using a crossover cable from his laptop, so it has to be a network issue of some sort, i am going to meet the printer tech on Friday morning to see what we can come up with.

Thanks for the help, if you care i'll post what we come up with on Friday.

If he hooked up with a crossover cable then he just proved that the NIC is good on that print controller and something in your network is acting up.

The next step is to connect your laptop to the customers network and run a little utility called NetScan or AngryIP. What it does is uses the parameters you assign to identify all IP address in use. If you've got a duplicate IP address, NetScan will see both users. Or you can just disconnect the MFP from the network and ping the IP address.

The nice part of NetScan is that it identifies the MAC address of whatever is also using your IP address. You can present this proof to the customers IT. I had one particular case where printing resumed at 4:00 PM and stopped again at 7:00 AM. An employee was using their personal laptop with a static IP, that just happened to be the same as the MFP. When the laptop dropped off the network a flood of the days print jobs printed off. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

worked with tech at great length today, he went above and beyond. We determined it may be the switch it's plugged into. It's plugged into a Netgear coming off a Cisco switch, when we go into the Cisco we get no issue back into Netgear we get our issue. No free ports on the Cisco going to see if we can free one up, I hope that's it.. Thank you for everyone giving me your 2 cents.
