    Copystar CS-8030 Toner Gauge gone

Unfortunately, I had to run U020 memory clear on a few of these CS-8030s. It didn't take long for me to figure out that the destination was back to '0' in U265. When the destination is put back to '66', then re-booted, the printer IP becomes zero-ed out. So I turn off DHCP, RARP, and put back the IP address. So far so good.

The problem is that the toner gauge on the web interface is gone. The proper machine model number shows, and all the other features are there. I've gone through the maintenance report line by line with a pre-U020 machine, but can't find any major differences.

    Anyone seen this?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

No takers? I'm open to wild-ass guesses at this point.

      Wild-ass guess:
I think the toner gauge is just an estimate based on toner coverage and number of copies since the last toner replacement, until the toner sensor reads 0 which gives a Low Toner warning and sets the toner gauge to 5% or 10%. Maybe U020 reset that estimate and nothing will show up on the webpage until the toner gets replaced.

I am following your logic. The fill percentage may have reset to 0%. If that is indeed the case, it could take a while. These cartidges last 50k.

        Thanks your input.

          Chasing ghosts.

It turns out that I've been trying to fix something that doesn't even exist! The CS-8030 doesn't have a toner gauge on the web page, never did! Every other model does, just not this one.
