    Copy Prescribe

Does anyone know if you can copy Prescribe from a compactflash tozip usb drive?
We have a customer with an old KM3035 and they want to upgrade to a new KM3500I.
Will this work? Customer refuses to upgrade there software and this is the only way it would work.

    Thanks

    Re: Copy Prescribe

Hi could you be a bit more specific, Prescribe is a very complex printer language that allows commands to be used for printing,

Are you trying to store this on a Compact flashcard and transfer it to a USB key or drive????

This software should be stored on the server and any machine upgrade should be straight forward setting up for Command language so the customer can use prescribe.

Have you got the manual on prescribe settings...

I doubt that this will work for two reasons:

      1) I doubt that the Alphard Gaia will be able to retrieve and read PreScribe commands from a USB stick.
      2) I doubt that the commands written for the FalconII will be compatible with with the Alphard Gaia. There have been nearly 10 years and three generations of machines in between. Many changes in PreScribe have happened between the FalconII/Voyager and the Alphard series.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for responding Masterchief and Blackcat4866, The cf card is plugged into the KM3035 currently and we were wondering if you could copy it onto a usb drive and plug it into the 3500I if it would work?
It sounds like it won't. If it was loaded onto the server (if they have one) do you think it would work with the newer machine?

        Thanks for the help.

I'm just guessing, but I think you've got a Macro of some sort on the CF card. That CF card slot disappeared on recent models, so I don't know if those functions are even still available. The last machines with CF card slots were the KM-420i/520i, and the Saturn series. Since it's a program written in the machines native language it most likely would have to be loaded onto the machine somehow, but it will have to be re-created from scratch.

No you can't just plug in the CF card somewhere and expect it to work. =^..^=
