      Re: Scanning to Printer

Why are you trying to scan to a printer?

      Printers print, scanners scan

      WTF?????????????
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Because you can color scan directly to a color printer from a mono MFP. And it's geeky !
        Hope that helps !

What error code did you get ? That should give you a hint of what direction to go.
            Hope that helps !

No error code, the MFP blinks memory and eventually stops... and nothing out of the printer. Kyocera support says it depends on what machine you are sending the scan to, in this case it was an HP. I don't think that is the problem though. That printer does not know that the image being sent to it is coming from a copier/scanner. It just sees raw data coming across on port 9100. So i don't know. I have given up.

I also tried sending on port 21 as Kyocera recommended. Nothing. Interestingly enough when running the "Test" to test the connection it just cycles over and over... never comes up with an error or "successful".

does the hp have pdf direct print availability? you should be able to create a folder on a pc and drag pdf into it and see if that prints...is so then scan to that folder from the kyocera
