Kyocera CS 35 - 5500 series fuser life

The fusers in these are supposed to last for 600k prints but we seem to be only getting about half that before we need to replace them. Anybody else having problems with these not lasting as long as they should?
Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

My machines are doing OK, but I read about the the high speed Alphard's chewing up fusers. I had a Venus that gave me C6xxx codes intermittently accompanied by gear noise. One of the HR bushings had worn down, and to my great surprise I had something suitable in my bushing collection.

I've still got that new fuser just in case. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Are those Alphard fuser units still having issues with the spring loaded drive gear mechanism or are they having other problems?
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

It must be the 50th revision of the 6500/8500 fuser, and I still hear stories of the film tracking off one side, and long backorders.

I'm thankful that we didn't sell any. =^..^=

I agree 300k. It does not worry me I dont pay for replacement. Two things 90% of work is in full colour and temp is raised on fuser unit so life is less

Yeah, thank goodness for warranty replacements. I have problems with the b/w ones too.

One thing that bothers me these fusers is the sep fingers. I can't help but wonder why wouldn't they mold them as one solid piece? I've had more than a few break prematurely.

              Our first 8000 fuser lasted 630k o.O

Our PM fuser lasted about 30k
Our replacement of PM fuser lasted about 45k
Our replacement of replacement PM fuser is lasting another 70+ don't remember with all the jig jag scooby-do chew it-up, split lips, mylar on top of the boss, angled lift to crack the latest mod. And now STABLE

5500 haven't changed any fusers and some machines are pushing over 300k marks so all good. fingers X
