hi all, i have a km 2560 thats jamming. I get j47 and j81. the j47 is that a registration switch in the eject is not turning on. and the j81 is when the paper goes into the finisher when it should have shot down into the duplexer. now for the fun part: i have replaced the door, the duplexor, the ak, the fuser, the exit assembly and transfer section from working machines. also this only jams when duplexing. when doing single sided it runs just fine. it is not the paper because i swapped their machine with another machine and they had no jams on it. any ideas to try?

it does not, it only has tray 1 and 2. i also tried setting tray 2 as letter R and that seemed to work just fine double siding, though its slower than crap.Comment

You have replaced everything I can think of but not sure if you replaced the guide that houses the press separation claws, piece can break off so the gap is too small, letter R will fit but letter won't. as an update to this, i have replaced everything that touches paper and the jams are still there. the paper surrounds the pressure roller and often times will have several pages in there before it "jams". I have turned on the tray heaters and checked the temperature of the fuser to make sure the paper wasnt going to stick to the fuser and get sucked in. i have been visiting the copier whenever im on campus, however the jams are still coming in slowly.im beginning to think the problem is the professors copying with the lid open is putting too much toner on the paper and is causing it to want to stick.Comment

You may be on the right track. I have a documented case of J47's in which the enduser was copying very heavy fill docs. The toner builds up on the fuser inlet guides. I was able to clean and scrape the guides, but it's the behavior that you've got to fix. It will be back. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

well my first call tomarrow will be at this particular machine. they placed another call on it for jamming, so ill update and let you all know what I find.Comment

I spent all morning cleaning every part i could think of and found the registration clutch was chock full of rust. I cleaned and oiled it up and it doesnt seem to want to jam.Comment
