we have several of these boxes out, but, one in particular we have installed 3 drive units so far. just wondering if any else has a similiar issue with these boxes and if so have you come up with a cause and solution? TIA, rb

Re: km 6030/8030
How many prints per fuser drive assy? 500K to 1M is normal. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: km 6030/8030
We had few . one lasted 2.2 mil and other only 1 mil before the fuser drive gear assy went pop.. the main thing is to , not to try save $$$ and change the whole fuser drive motor assembly.. cost more but is faster to fit and you then look for problems else where. Make sure springed coupling is lubed and smoothly clips against the fuser one way gear, which is replaced each time the fuser rollers goes in haven. Have you rebuild the fuser? If so did you change the pressure on the adjustable bolts? How about the cleaning WEP is the roller OK, and cleaning roller below, pressure roller is it NEW?
What is the Jam count all the J4x range and possibly even J3x in registration.
Do you have all mods fitted?
Have you Vaccumed the filings from the main drive(fuser) broken assy below so it doesn't fall on any of the boards below?
I found that a customer who was using a lot of 80gsm paper only where it was operated by 1 user only went all the way to 3.5 mil with 1 drive change.
And the same batch machine went to a office with 27 staff and the drive went 2 times in 2 million clicks. They used letter headed 100 gsm paper and this machine had a lot of j32 j33 too much frustration with them banging the trays all the time..nightmare...wrongly loaded paper all the time no matter how many times you had to explain that the machine wont take it further if they abuse it. in one instance I found about a good handfull of staples from all around the machine. Thank God the machine has mesh at the back, still they managed to put few through and it spiked PWR supplylol
Otherwise, very good machines..with the right paper it works like a dream.
So I would bet my cards on USER ABUSE...Comment

we have several of this series in the field... most seem to fail at or aroun the 2-3 mil range..we had one that ran to over 11 mil and became a donor machine to another...just never know..Comment

Re: km 6030/8030
there was an update to the original design. it was originally that the 2 motors were parallel to one another. now the fuser drive motor is tilted slightly. also i dont know if your company does the same thing we did, but you need to use a special lube. plain oil doesnt do it. we were dropping them like flies, every 100k or so. our best guess as to why they die so often is that its stop and go jobs. walk up copy one page then walk away etc.. these machines were designed to run and run.Comment
