    C5104 TA400ci

    I got C5104 on a TA 400ci.
Drum motors changed from yellow and black. The same code C5104 persists....
    Connectors ok.
Cleaned end of drum unit Y.
It could be the high voltage?

    Hi,

    One time a had a C5103 on a TA 300ci.

      Ok thx dkyo.
Is it difficult to disamble the HVU?
I checked the partslist but not so clear...

pretty much you gotta take the drum motors out, the ductwork off the right hand side and its the board that runs horizontal under the drum motors. your looking at a 4-1 hour to take it out.

            Hello Linuxgyro,

What you mean with the ductwork? The ventilationfan?
The developer/cleaning motors should be disambled to?

On the right hand side is a couple fans and a bunch of wites threadedthrough it. And the motors are the big ones the are right above the hvpwb

This will be a great learning experience for you. This is how I approach situations like this:

                1) remove the consumables from the front of the machine: toner, developing units, drum units, fuser, transfer belt assy
                2) remove back covers.
Keep paper and pencil at hand. Start removing stuff to get closer to the HVT. Take notes throughout.
When you finally get to the HVT, I think you'll find that re-assembly will be in a different order. Keep taking notes. The next time you'll do it will be the way you re-assembled (in reverse).

With this machine it is necessary to untether the various bits of the wiring harness from the looms. There are a lot of wiring harnesses and connectors to be removed. Pay special attention to the routing of the wire harness through the looms. If you take the wrong route you may find that you don't have enough length to plug in your connectors.

I've written up my own procedure to disassemble the back of a Saturn, but you'll want to figure this out yourself. What fun would it be to copy somebody else? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Check the drum grounds. The days of taking notes has been long replaced by the video portion of your phone.

                      Hello all,

                      Thanks for the usefull information!
tomorrow i'll go again to this client...
Anyway, i'll first swap 2 drums before i'll begin to disamble this machine, maybe it's a ground mass problem.
