    Utax CDC1945 slow

I have a customer with a new CDC1945 mfp copying and printing slow intermitentley. Firmware is up to date and no errors in the event log occur. I have seen the problem myself. When they go to copy the machine might cycle for 60 seconds to two minutes before the first copy, even from the ready screen. Powering down and repowering up again solves the problem. However it reappears after a few days.

    Any suggestions apreciated...

This is an Alphard CS-4550ci in the Copystar line.

I'm thinking that you've got a low toner or developer density issue that the machine is trying to correct, before printing or copying. Are any of the colors displaying low toner? Are any of the colors poorly developed.

Run some U089 test patterns. Eventually you've got a code in your future, but maybe you can diagnose it before it's critical. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Hi Blackcat,
      Thanks for the prompt response.
I was going down the road of a low toner issue also. I replaced the balck toner cartridge as this was reading low on a status page. I did a developer refresh, calibration, gray adjust etc. All fine and output quality is excellent.
A call came in for the same problem came in Friday evening, so I am going to reassess the situation tomorrow.
      Its a strange problem...
