KM 2560 Fuser unit for Australia 240V vs 110V

    Hi,

I have a KM-2560 and the fuser unit is stuffed..

Can I use a USA 110V fuser unit? or do I have to have one rated to 240V. I would have thought that the machine would step the voltage to the required amount, it seems silly for Kyocera to have to have different components for different countries/regions.

Unfortunately in Oz we have this wonderful thing called the "Australia Tax" where everything imported is double the price of just about every other country including the US. So for the price of a fuser unit in Australia you could buy a whole maintenance kit in the states

    Thanks in advance

Hi,I think the lamps are rated at the different voltage and therefore something will blow lamp/fuse. Have you tried getting generic rollers etc and rebuilding the unit?

I'll confirm that Kyocera does not sell OEM rollers alone, just the assembly. I don't know if aftermarket rollers are available. Be sure to change the pressure roller bearings. Often they don't make the first 300K. =^..^=

      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

        Thanks dickierock & blackcat4866,

Looks like it's an Oz assembly for me

blackcat4866 - The fuser unit should be a complete swap out assembly shouldn't it? Or do I need to get the pressure bearings as well as the unit? The parts list shows pressure bearings to each end of the roller press. However I would rather not muck around with replacing individual parts and just go with a whole new unit. I have attached a couple of (very bad pics) showing the issue with the roller coating worn away in a few locations. As I can't say for sure what is causing the fault (except for the obvious) I think a whole unit replacement is in order.

        Cheers

The pressure bearings are inside the unit

Yes, they're part of the assembly. =^..^=
