    KM-2550 Scan to pc/email setup

    All

I've just setup a km-2550 printer and have both network print and copy functions working fine.
Also smtp is setup as i am receiving status updates from the printer.
I just cant get the scan to pc or email working

scan to pc: I've made sure that the folder used has access (security set to everyone and on root of server) firewall is not on and setting are correct. Question: is all you have to do on the printer is set 1 item on the destination list with a name and the server ip address?

Scan to email: I want to use the ldap converter, it has scanned our domain and received the address, but theses aren't uploading to the scanner! I cant see where the setting are to point to the "ldap converter" server are on the scanner, All i have under ""send e-mail" settings" is "email basic settings" and "destination list". no option to point to ldap converter server at all.

All user and setup guides say that there is a option on the scanner to do this but not on our one!

Also if anyone has the latest firmware for this printer/scanner, i'd really appreciate it!

    regards

    Wex!

Re: KM-2550 Scan to pc/email setup

OK I got the scan to folder and email working but for email, it was an address i manually entered to the scanner. So what remains is the setup of the ldap converter. the scanner is not looking at the server to get the list of email addresses.

Any suggestions, I've been through the system but cant see where it is that this setting is entered!

It's been a while since I've used this utility but I can remember a few things.

Firstly the LDAP converter utility must be installed on a PC or server that is always on, and not on the Active Directory server. When installing this utility you must select the radio button to have it install as a service. Once installed, find the LDAP converter utility in the programs menu and click to start. You'll get a toolbar icon. Right-click the toolbar icon to configure. When configuration is complete, right-click the same toolbar icon to start the service.

      That's about all I can remember ... =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Thanks for reply

Only thing i was doing wrong there was i did have it on a domain server (print server).
I've installed and confirmed that its running as a service on a non domain server.

But how do you connect to scanner, i cant find on scanner where to point it to the server! the guides suggest that this is done on the printer but all copy i've found of the guide uses a completely different interface that the one on our km2550 so i cant find it!

        Any ideas?

Why do you think that the LDAP converter is compatible with the KM-2550? It's not listed in the sales brochure or specifications:

There is also no mention of the LDAP converter in the Scan Sys (F) Setup Manual:

Edit: Perhaps this will help you:
          ftp://ftp.udpcorp.com/Device%20Drive...nual%202.2.pdf
          or this:

          No magic, just Google.
My interpretation is that it's not able to communicate with this model. =^..^=
