Ive been conflicted on it: Ive had situations where Ive had to setup small branch offices, and we have to be their IT dept and Ive advised large IT shops on how and what settings go on the copiers scan setup. The first situation, I would do it, I felt somewhat justified because I know myself and Im not trying to hack anybody, I wouldnt want that to happen to me, Im just going point A to point B and delivering on something, there have been times I tell the customer EVERYTHING Im doing as I do it, so they understand whats being done ( copier standard account, the accounts password, why the shared folder is necessary for scanner, etc) , whereas some people dont care, they just want me out of their way so they can get back to work.
But after everyones sound off, Im thinking of a reapproach to the situation. Thanks Everyone. Needed another perspective.
