[Electrical] km 4035 switching off when all door safety switches are activated

    Hi
Got this km 4035 ,when u switch it on it comes on nicely until when the scanner moves slightly back and forth it switches off completely, given 5 or so min it comes on again, still comes off the moment u activate your door switches.Have tried a working power supply board, and a different main board, still same symptoms on the machine.

Anyone who has come across this before.thanks

Power Supply senses excessive current, shuts down, This particular power supply will not immediately power back up. It has a time delay after it senses too much current. Find what motor or circuit board is drawing too much current and you will probably solve your problem. You might start with the Scanner motor driver board. Good Luck

      Sounds like a pinched wire

You might check the ribbon cable from the fax option to the main PWB:

Can't access service mode. Can't download fax firmware. Can't access Fax Defaults in the System Menu (only the double beep). Can't access Fax Reports tab in the Fax screen (button grayed out). "Cover Open" indication when no covers are open. "Please Wait. Cannot be combined." when attempting to fax out. Ribbon cable from the fax control PWB to the main control PWB is damaged by removing the cable without releasing the clasp. Trim off the damaged end, or replace the ribbon cable (3CM27010).

IIRC, the power also turned Off/On all by itself. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks guys I have also suspected the fax board so I have disconnected it,even the printer card and scanner card..Luckily I got another km 4035 that's next to it,I really do suspect the scanner board or that related area. Will start off by disconnecting each of the suspects, one by one to see what happens.

On the wiring I have checked for damaged cable looks very unlikely, otherwise one of the units is accidentally grounding. Will keep u posted guys thanks. When u activates the door switches it goes to the stage where the exposure lamp comes on then,.....it goes off the whole machine, you got to wait for approximately 5 or so min to be able to come on again.

It's too bad that it won't stay on long enough to enter service mode and get an error message. You wouldn't even have to get to U000. If an error occurs while in service mode it will appear in the top line of data on the screen.

Maybe if you leave a door open, you could reach a point where you could enter service mode and get an error to point you in the right direction ... =^..^=
