I have a 3500i with intermittant j-4711. I have not seen it jam, but the customer tells me that the paper comes out above the js-732 some times. any one else seen this.

Check bulletin B438-2LC-0047 with your machine Serial Number. The gates will stick and hang up. Had a rash of them recently and now they are on backorder.

Did you just warranty the whole exit unit?

It only affected the first 12 machines we ordered. The 2 gates cost around $15. After the first one happened we just ordered more and do them when the customer calls. Once you do one it's easy. Didn't bother with warranty.

Sorry to Rez this thread - But we have a 4501i in our shop for repair that is doing the same thing, but as that we are in Canada we can't find the bulletin B438-2LC-0047 that was mentioned. Could someone with access to it attach it or send it to me please?

I think if you order an exit unit it will have the retro parts already installed.
