    Kyocera KM5035 fax problems

I am having a problem with fax on a KM5035. The machine will send but not receive. When calling the machine it just continues to ring and never pick up. Had phone line checked and it was ok. Hooked up a different fax and it works just fine. Did resets U600, U601, U602 and reset all data. Machine still does not receive Replaced the NCU and Fax control boards, still will not receive. I am out of ideas and just looking to see if anyone has any ideas on what to try next.

Could the line be plugged into the handset port (symbol shaped like a phone) instead of the line port (symbol shape RJ11 jack)? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I double checked that the line was plugged into the correct port. I even tried the other port just to be sure and then I lost dial tone and could not send.

Make sure you are using a two-wire phone cord instead of a four-wire cord.

Try replacing the flat ribbon connector, it has given me strange problems in the past. Also make sure they are not piggy backing a DSL on the fax line.
          Good luck.

Is it sent for manual RX in the user settings?

              Just a thought.

              My signature says it all.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

                Re: Kyocera KM5035 fax problems

I did check that it was set for auto RX. I tried setting it to manual RX and called it with my cell. It never rang in at the machine. I took the same phone line and plugged it into a stand alone fax and called it and it went thru and the fax picked up. I have them using the stand alone fax until I can figure out why the KM5035 will not receive. Thanks for the ideas I'm at the point of trying anything.

The ribbon cable is a good idea. I've had some seriously strange symptoms from a damaged ribbon cable.
                  For example:

Can't access service mode. Can't download fax firmware. Can't access Fax Defaults in the System Menu (only the double beep). Can't access Fax Reports tab in the Fax screen (button grayed out). "Cover Open" indication when no covers are open. "Please Wait. Cannot be combined." when attempting to fax out.
