    FAX SYS S on CS-250ci

Just installed a fax system S on a CS-250ci machine. We purchased the machine off lease so don't have full history on it, but seems to be working ok other than a couple color quality issues that have been resolved. It did not come with a fax installed, so we purchased one and installed it for our customer. Fax RX and TX work fine, and are able to NW Fax just fine. Only issue is we have no sound coming from the fax at all. No dial tone, no transmission sounds, nothing. System beeps work ok. Checked the volume settings, all set at 3 (max) for the two fax sound options. Updated firmware to latest version with no impact at all. Customer is on a digital phone line and ECM has been adjusted accordingly. Checked to insure no bent pins on fax connector, and checked for voltage on the main board on YC8. Pin 3 shows 2.3v (per manual should be 3.3v)

    Suggestions?

That's a first. Most of the time endusers are asking me if I can stop the beeping.

I was going to suggest upgrading the firmware, until you mentioned it. I'd follow the speaker wires to be sure they're connected. That's the sure-fire way to mute any fax. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

well, feel like an idiot, but finally figured this one out..... went back with a different main board and option board, neither helped so continued tracing out other options... decided to open up the control panel and found a loose connector as soon as I popped the cover open... plugged it in, and problem resolved!
