KM-4050 can not enter service mode - C code error on panel

    [Error Code] KM-4050 can not enter service mode - C code error on panel

    I have a KM-4050. C-Code = 0640 (HDD failure).
    Trying to enter Service mode to format the drive viai U024 - Drive Format function.

    The problem is, the C-code never goes away. I never see the Maintenance Mode Entered message.

    W/ the C-Code error on the display panel, I press the STATUS button and enter ######## (the 8 digit SM code) At this point, the display should change to: Maintenance Modem Entered, but it does not.

    Any ideas what I am missing? Do I need to do something special before I can enter Maintenance Mode?

    as if something extra is required when a C-Code is displayed.

      You might not get in. You can try with door open.

      I would try a CF firmware upgrade, not USB and let it boot from that.

          Reformat is not always the answer. Maybe you might consider replacing a failed hard drive? Once replaced, you'll want to reload firmware. =^..^=
          If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
