HELP! Got a 9 AM delivery deadline c4035e issue

Got in a c4035e trade-in a few weeks ago and now it is sold. So, before delivery to customer I did a U024 format HDD last night before I left to clear HDD of previous user's docs. Takes awhile so I figured it would be done this morning.

Execute was still highlighted this morning! I did a reset back to 001 and now it won't even print. The power down power up. The control panel was not responding though display is fine. Removed control panel all is OK there including display.

Send a print and print button lights up but the docs seem to just go to vapor.

    Any help much appreciated!

I am wondering if this HDD is fried? Just sent a print job and print light blinks but nothing else happens.

Unplug the hd and see what happens , if it boots up hdd probably gone. You can try and take it out and format it on PC that's worked for me

thanks for the advice - I already came to conclusion it is probably bad hdd since hdd format in service mode would not complete.

don't have a PC that will take the 40 though; I ordered a new print controller used instead for $195 form GPE we'll just pop that in and be done with it.

Be sure to re-load firmware whenever you change boards or swap accessories or install new accessories. The current firmware on the board or accessory may conflict with the rest of the firmware on the machine. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

we are not a KM dealer - any suggestions on where I can get latest system firmware? I assume load onto sim card and a service mode u code corresponding for upload and execute?

I typically use a 128MB compact flash card. Format the card on the machine, from the print menu. There are two parts to the combined firmware: Printer and Combined. Unpack the firmware and copy only Printer firmware files to the root of the card.

Power the MFP Off at the main switch (on right side cover). Insert CF card in the appropriate slot on the printer board, then power On. Do not power Off until the screen displays "Completed". If you get anxious and power off during a firmware upgrade, you'll have the world's largest paperweight. When the screen says "Completed" power Off, and remove CF card. Load the second part to the CF card, and repeat the process. Then power On. It usually takes ~18 minutes to do each part. If you think that it's stalled, wait at least 1/2 hour. I've waited up to 1 hour, just to be sure. =^..^=
