    Trickle feed developer supply

    Would like to know if besides Xerox Workcentre series 7300 there are other makes and its models using the method of continuous replenishment of developer.Experiences collected and benefit/difficulties experienced.

      The Kyocera Mita Alphard series all have small amounts of developer mixed into the toner, and a portal to feed off excessive developer to the waste bottle. So far, it's working well. I've had to change a couple of developing units for grainy fill, but a far better track record than the VoyagerE and Saturn predecessors.

      Panasonic was doing this on the DP-354. I had a machine that the yellow developer was dead, no fill at all. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as you'll see) it took two weeks to get the developer. By the time I arrived, enough developer had been replenished that I didn't need to change it any more. It just gradually corrected itself.

      It's not like it's a new idea. Back when I started in 1988, it was common practice to carry a partial bottle of developer, and when the fill was weak we would "spike" the developer by adding a scoop of developer to the toner hopper. This just does it automatically. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Call me ignorant, but is thisa question is mono component toner?

          As BC alludes, Kyocera has developed machines that don't require separate developer.

          The immediate benefit is they don't recycle crap toner and paper dust.

          Service easier too

              The developing system that we're talking about is dual component. All the machines mentioned are dual component. Kyocera's stopped being mono-component with the with the CS-8030, CS-520i, and CS-300i. =^..^=
