I'm fairly certain that the OEM drums are Amorphose Silicon, not OPC. I seriously doubt that you can just drop in an OPC drum and have it work, without changing all your high voltage components and toner.

Your credibility is slipping. I would be curious to hear an explanation. =^..^=

Good news my ass! Why would I want to do that when I can buy a brand new drum DRUM ASSEMBLY from Kyocera for less then $225 (sorry to discuss costs here). It's assembly so I don't need to get my hands dirty jacking around with your crappy drum blade AND it has a 500k yeild.

Your crappy aftermarket CPC is: $0.00061 plus the labor to pry open the drum unit
Kyocera OEM CPC is less than $0.00045

Hmmm. What should I do?

yes you are right the drum is OPC not Amorphous Silicon(a-si) but its specially designed/Coated new OPC drum (Developed in china), there is no need to change toner but some adjustment require like drum surface potential.

if you work on KM-2550 you will find the same type of drum Amorphous Silicon(a-si) i tried to use KM-2050 OPC drum by changing front and rear cap and gear because the 2050 and 2550 drum's diameter and length are same only difference is drum shaft.

i got the copy but not copy quality because its producing very light copies and vertical light and dark print.

so the compatible drums i am talking about are tested by myself and working fine on my machines.

Not every one is fortunate like you to get the Original Kyocera supplies at good price or invest at once for 500000 print.

so there is need for some cost effective alternate for Kyocera.

New grid, Transfer roller, Doctor blade is also available if you need MK706 i can give you under USD400.

Yes, the drum is really cheap. But the visits you have to make afterwards to resolve copy quality issues or vacuum out dirty machines, are not.

Most Technicians on this forum have learned, some the hard way, some from taking the advice or others, that if you want to keep your Kyocera/Mita produce working its best the you will use OEM products in them. Sure you can save some money up front purchasing aftermarket products, but you will find out that they will often cost more in the long run, more service calls and repairs. Kyocera drums last 500,000 copies or longer if oem product is used.

Form my experience that drum won last more then 150 000 copy in best and you need change setting almost in every 2-5000 printed/copied page.
In that case you want buy OEM product :P even if isn't cheep. I tried once and never again. for example i change drum in every 700 000 (the bigest was 900 000) copy if client don't have enough money but they always found money to buy MK

If your photoconductor drum was the same materal as the OEM And at the price stated and I didn't have to make a ton of adjustments then I would try one. But what is the point. Labor is a cost of doing business and if I have to screw around with adjustments then I'm losing money in the long run. Sorry dude but I don't think anyone is going to take you up on working harder.

mostly we got used/Off less Equipments and install on rental not on ORS and equipment we buy around USD300$-USD450$ and the renaming life of the the consumable for quality copies on average 150K .

So how would be possible for the people like us to Purchase MK which price is equal to the cost of Equipment and require one time investment for 500000 copies .

i was the person like many other searching for the low cost alternative for KM i have tried may and the results was not satisfactory now i got the new type and quality drums which i am talking about and working fine on my machines and don't require any adjustment after installing.
