Kyocera KM-2560 - Scan via web interface, or utility?

    Hi All,

I have a Kyocera KM 2560, the touch panel has stopped responding.

This has happened in the past and I dismantled the panel cleaned it up and got things working again fine.

This time however i have done this twice and made sure that everything is super clean. Still no response from the touch panel.
When I re-installed the panel I tried to use the touch panel as you would normally, and in the maintenance mode 201. But could not get anything to work.

Is there a way to scan documents from the web interface http://192.168.1.1/ or by downloading a utility of some type?

The copier is working fine otherwise, but at the moment I can't afford to replace the screen. But desperately need the scan function.

Or is there something else that I can try to rectify the issue. I did do a search of the forums and couldn't find anything that might help me.

    Thanks in advance

Perhaps a twain driver with a third party software like Picassa could command the machine to scan without using touchpad but that's probably it

Why don't you just replace the tablet?

You'll also want the foamy seals. They're difficult to remove without destroying them. You can identify the problem easily. When the adhesive attaching the ribbon cable loosens up it turns from green to yellow.

      Tablet: 302H094271
      (order 2) Sponge: 302H005610
      (order 2) Sponge: 2BJ25280

      =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        Hi Blackcat,

Is there a chance that it could be anything other than the tablet(touch panel?) itself? the buttons either side of the touch screen work ok. I just would want to pay for a tablet and find that i was something else.

It's very likely to be the tablet, especially if you're experiencing high humidity. The tablets fail en-mass during times of high humidity. In the end, the final decision to fix something is up to you. =^..^=

Thanks very much for the feedback. I had a search online and was getting prices of US$180 + shipping to Australia.

I called Kyocera Australia, and they have the part for around $60 so that's great, part ordered and hopefully be back up and running in a couple of days

I think there's also some firmware related to op panel issues.Might be no harm to do that as well.

Three things you want to look out..

                Update the firmware..
check the connectivity of the display connector to the main board
then also not working you can install the twain driver

                  Thanks everyone fro the replies.

New tablet arrived today, and touch is now responsive.

However when I go through an initialization i cannot get the stylus to touch the bottom star. Closest I can get is (-22, -31) any ideas?

                  Thanks in advance
