[Error Code] 250ci issue, Kyo tech support clueless

under adjustment/maintenance there's a tab for Calibration Cycle....mine is set to custom, while long/short etc is greyed out.... anyone know why? (the guys on the hotline say they don't know why its greyed out,
I may want to try it at short)

the actual problem is the usual ..intermittent/once or twice a day 7101/7102 codes, replaced K/C dev, black dev motor, firmware latest, tryed U464 AC Calibration at 0 and 2, tried seting U325 to mode4, U147 to mode1 per Tshooting bulletin, U155 shows normal, count 240K, print coverage 6% even btw color and B/W...

wait I just found a clue in the SM, something under U464 but I don't remember playing with the Set Custom on/off mode??

they do print full coverage 8 1/2X11 color prints intermittently

should I replace the engine PWB? sigh...
    thx for any ideas

Yes, Custom must be enabled in U464. But there's more to it. This is the procedure that I used when increasing the frequency of calibrations:

'1) Set sim 464, Set Custom, set to On. 2) System Menu, Adjustment/ Maintenance, Color Calibration Cycle, select Custom. 3) Sim 464, "SetCalibTiming duringPrint", set to +480. 4) Sim 147, Set Operation Mode, select Mode 2. 5) Sim 464, run AC Calibration.

I've used this setting when my endusers were doing 50 to 100% fill, and getting grainy images. I'm not sure if that will help you, but that's how this function works. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

man am i running behind! thank you BC, i finally set it all back to normal calibration cycle (turned Custom off as they're doing 6% fill at the most)

what is this magical mysterious U464 AC Calibration that we are to do aftr a drum/dev change ?
are we suppose to set the ID Adjustment on each color to 0 ? (for a while there (prev firmware maybe).. i was told to set each color to 4....

At last mention the number was "2" but I honestly don't know what that number specifies. =^..^=
